Georgia College has consistently been a destination for students who want to make a difference in their communities and in the world. As far back as 1889, when the university was founded as a women’s educational center, Georgia College has been a source for students taking the lead. Today, Georgia College is the state’s designated public liberal arts university.
Georgia College & State University's ENGAGE program supports development of Community-based Engaged Learning (C-bEL) experiences for students. Through C-bEL experiences, Georgia College students address community issues and needs in partnership with community organizations. We are proud to be an ENGAGE partner with GC&SU.
"The Life Enrichment Center has fostered multiple community collaborations that have resulted in a win for the persons served, the organization, and partnering organizations.
The Life Enrichment Center has built a strong relationship with Georgia College & State University. This utilization of the college's students in practicum and internship experiences is exceptional. The students from the college are leading music therapy sessions and art lessons, and are also directly assisting persons served in participating in the activities."
This is a unique partnership that models best practices of both GCSU and The Life Enrichment Center, as is demonstrated by the two organizations presenting their partnership model to other colleges, universities, and other entities."
