Creative Expressions - An Integrated Arts Program

Creative Expressions is an integrated arts program that promotes creativity and self-expression for artists with developmental disabilities through the use of music therapy, nature explorers, visual art, and performing arts. The program was implemented in 2000 with the partnership of the Life Enrichment Center and the Music Therapy Department of Georgia College & State University. The program has expanded to participation with the Education, Work, and Activity Center at Central State Hospital, Lockerly Arboretum, Green Acres, the Art Department and Special Education department at GC&SU. The program employs a full time music therapist, and two Visual Arts Instructors. The program also utilizes a variety of volunteers including college students, interns and community members. To find out more about Creative Expressions visit www.CreativeExpressionsStudio.org
